The STARZL Odyssey:
Pulse of Compassion, Art of Renewal
The STARZL Odyssey: Pulse of Compassion, Art of Renewal, organized by InciSioN Malaysia and held at the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia on 27–28 September 2025, is a two-day national flagship event dedicated to advancing transplant education and organ donation advocacy. Inspired by the legacy of Thomas Starzl, the program embodies science, surgical mastery, innovation, respect for donors, and a lasting legacy of healing under the tagline “Crafting Miracles Through Surgery and Donation.”
Designed for 160 Malaysian medical students, the event combines hands-on surgical simulation with multidisciplinary academic discourse. Day 1, “The Starzl Lab,” focuses on technical training, including suturing, vascular anastomosis, and corneal and liver transplant simulations. Day 2, “The Starzl Congress,” features keynote addresses, ethical discussions on organ allocation and consent, transplant recipient sharing sessions, and interactive simulation tracks covering renal transplantation and multidisciplinary transplant workflows.
Supported by national professional bodies including the Malaysian Society of Transplantation, National Transplant Resource Centre, Malaysian Society of Nephrology, Malaysian Urology Association, and the College of Surgeons, Academy of Medicine of Malaysia, the program strengthens collaboration between students, clinicians, and policymakers while highlighting Malaysia’s evolving transplant landscape.
Guiding Rays of Early Youthful neuroSurgeons
GREYS 2025, organized by InciSioN Malaysia, was a one-day neurosurgical symposium and hands-on workshop attended by 79 medical students and junior doctors. The morning symposium introduced neurosurgical training pathways, research, and technological advances. The afternoon featured small-group skill stations on intracranial pressure monitoring, power drill handling, image-guided surgery, and microscopy–endoscopy integration, supported by industry partners including Brainlab and ZEISS. The event successfully bridged theory with real-world technology, enhancing participants’ foundational understanding, technical exposure, and early interest in neurosurgery.
Groundwork for Awareness & Screening Initiatives for Neoplasms with Guidance
Project G.A.S.I.N.G. was a two-day cancer awareness and screening initiative combining education with community intervention. Day 1 focused on theory sessions covering colorectal, breast, and cervical cancers, including screening methods and current CPG guidelines, followed by hands-on training in ultrasound, CBE, DRE, and Pap smear techniques.
Day 2 transitioned into a large-scale community screening program involving obesity, hypertension, liver, lung, breast, cervical, prostate, and colon cancer assessments, alongside doctor consultations. The project empowered medical students with practical skills while promoting early detection and preventive healthcare within the Bukit Gasing community.
Dual Skils in Laproscopy & Chest Wall Surgery
InciSioN x Surgery DaDa x ICWSO
The two-day Advanced Thoracic & Laparoscopic Surgery Workshop was successfully conducted at Sunway University, combining academic excellence with hands-on surgical training. Day 1 featured lectures by Dr. Wenlin Wang on chest wall anatomy and reconstruction, and Dr. Saurabh Dixit on the evolution of minimally invasive surgery, followed by suturing demonstrations. Day 2 focused entirely on structured laparoscopic skills training under expert facilitators, with stations covering camera navigation, ergonomics, cholecystectomy, appendicectomy, and suturing techniques. The workshop fostered active participation, peer learning, and strengthened participants’ surgical confidence and technical competence.

MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU)
College of Surgeons, Academy of Medicine of Malaysia (CSAMM)
Signed in September 2025 with Prof. Liew, President of CSAMM, and witnessed by Prof. Shireen, Vice President of CSAMM together with Prof. Dato’ April Camilla Roslani, Advisor of Incision Malaysia.
As part of the agreement, Incision Malaysia gained a formal pathway to collaborate with Malaysia’s leading surgical professional body for global surgery advocacy and education, student involvement in surgical events and joint initiatives to connect student surgeons with professional surgical networks.
International Medical University Malaysia (IMU), Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS) and DriveMark.
This was signed in Bangi on the 11th of August 2020.
This collaboration is to help with research on driving behaviour data to develop policies that can reduce road traffic accidents through behavioural change, encourage and reward safe driving behaviours through a National Safest Driver Challenge (NSDC) and educate drivers on road traffic accidents and promote safe driving behaviours through awareness campaigns.
The main goal is to enable driving behaviours data to be collected for the purpose of analysis and research so that correlations between variables such as age, car type and so on can be understood with accident occurrences.
Malaysian Society of Colorectal Surgeons (MSCRS)
The signing was conducted with Dr Hashim, the president of MSCRS and Dr Luqman, the immediate past president of MSCRS.
This MoU helps with the collaboration on advancing surgical education, workshops, training and professional development activities in colorectal surgery.
