InciSioN (the International Student Surgical Network) was founded in 2016 by three visionary medical students—Dr. Dominique Vervoort, Dr. Katayoun Madani, and Dr. Luca Roesch. Their mission was a direct response to the Lancet Commission on Global Surgery, which revealed a staggering reality: 5 billion people worldwide lack access to safe, affordable surgical care.
Today, InciSioN has grown into the world’s largest student-led global surgery organization, representing over 5,000 members across more than 50 National Working Groups (NWGs). Through high-level partnerships with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the G4 Alliance, InciSioN provides a global voice for the next generation of surgical providers.
The 2025/2026 committee built a strong foundation through meaningful partnerships and impactful initiatives, even during challenging times. In collaboration with the College of Surgeons, Academy of Medicine of Malaysia, they strengthened InciSioN Malaysia’s role within the national surgical community. Their resilience continues to inspire our progress and purpose.
InciSioN Malaysia operates under a structured Executive Committee framework to ensure effective governance, strategic planning, and sustainable growth.
